The technique
The technique
Wet on Wet.
I tried many techniques before chosing my own way.
After several attempts, I decided that my best painting
technique was Oil on Canvas.
Oils allows many different ways of painting but the technique
which is more suitable to me is the "Wet on Wet", which
basically consist to have a thin layer of wet paint under a
thicker layer of paint.
This way offer the unique possibility to create more depth in
the painting and also to add several layers of colors which
gives more light and brightness to the final result.
It is quite intuitive way of painting but obliges the painter to
complete the piece before everything gets dry.
Everyone has is small secret in painting, mine is the "Recipe" I
use to create the first layer of paint, the one the goes first on
the white canvas, not too thick, not too thin and a mixture of
several ingredients.
Canvas are also very important and I like either cotton canvas
or old style canvas which are normally hand made, very
expensive but worth the money.
